The Lowestoft & Gt Yarmouth Repeater Group

We operate 6 Amateur Radio repeaters in North Suffolk and South Norfolk,  while we maintain close links to local Amateur radio clubs we are a completely independent group.

Our mission is to provide reliable & dependable communications while promoting experimentation and innovation with repeaters

The group was formed in 1981 with the intention of putting a 70cm FM Analogue repeater on-air,  GB3YL is still on-air to this day.  Other repeaters have since joined the groups estate.  See the history page for more.

We are currently the only repeater group in the UK with access to every (common) digital mode including M17 & TETRA.  For a few years we ran a transcoding XLX server but closed this due to increasing AWS costs.
